Atrium Health presented the Beyond the Label Fashion Show at The Metro Gala at the Pearl on Thursday, Jan. 15. Juniors and seniors from Hawthorne Academy of Health Sciences, part of the Bloomberg Philanthropies Early College Healthcare Initiative, partnered with The Pearl, Atrium Health, The DoGooders, LSAdaptive and Carolinas Rehabilitation to design and adapt clothing items for students at Metro School.

The fashion show is the culmination of a multi-month initiative where Hawthorne students worked alongside physical and occupational therapists from Carolinas Rehabilitation, design mentors from The DoGooders and adaptive fashion experts from LSAdaptive to create custom garments that meet the unique needs of Metro School students.
